Iona Prep Advocacy Efforts
Responding to the United Nations Declaration for Human Rights Education (HRE), the Iona Preparatory faculty dedicated the 2017-2018 academic year professional learning community (PLC) efforts to establish HRE in the classroom. Faculty members selected Human Rights issues that pertained to their subject area and weaved them into existing lesson plans. Those lessons were reinforced through projects, class discussions and group work.

In recent years, the Christian Brothers have shifted their focus from reflection on global issues to advocacy on these issues. As a means to support their call to action, this website was created to provide ideas and building blocks for the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers Network.
